A Letter Received from Patterson Bethel

A LETTER RECEIVED FROM PATTERSON BETHEL - EVIDENCE OF DISAGREEMENT AT WATCHTOWER HEADQUARTERS

Statistics over the last several years show that the number of active Jehovah's Witnesses have been declining in many countries that have easy access to the Internet.

In several countries, they are showing a 0 or - growth rate and when one compares the number of active Jehovah's Witness publishers (those going door-to-door) with the number of publishers from the previous year, minus the number of Jehovah's Witnesses baptized over the course of the year, one finds that on average, Jehovah's Witnesses lose nearly 50% of the number of people they are bringing into the organization annually. This coupled with their history of false predictions for the end of the world and shaky doctrinal flip-flops, is it any wonder that the rank and file Jehovah's Witnesses are beginning to waver in their faith that this organization is God's one and only true religion? The following is an interesting letter that we received in 2008 from a Jehovah's Witness "Brother" serving at Patterson Bethel (Watchtower Headquarters):

A LETTER FROM INSIDE WATCHTOWER HEADQUARTERS…

“I have been one of Jehovah’s Witness for some decades now. In fact, me and my wife serve at Patterson Bethel [Watchtower headquarters]. I work at the Service Department. I have a great deal of respect for many of the people I work with. Yet the strong stand that JW’s have taken on the issue of ‘the generation’ mentioned at Mat. 24:34 seems to have run aground. That generation that JW’s have subscribed to for so long [i.e., 1914] is now dead! So now what?

Many of the old Governing Body, the architects of this prophetic interpretation are themselves dead. The new leaders insist on keeping up this pretence that the numbers will still work. The scary part is that if any one in Bethel seems to show any form of hesitation or doubt about the prophecy, they are ‘reassigned’ which is French for getting thrown out of Bethel and sent somewhere where you won’t be a problem. For this reason, I keep my opinions down low. Yet, more than a few in my department have a brain and can’t help think about this.

It is notable that the Watchtower has not discussed this prophecy in a couple of years. This is apparently due to the fact that the interpretation of Mat 24:34 is being retooled. This must be done with out any embarrassment to the Governing Body. This could stifle the cash flow and would alter many lifestyles. My Father is not one of Jehovah’s Whiteness, and is very aware of the wealth that has been accumulated. I pray that these Brothers can find it in them to admit their mistake and continue to accomplish the good they are capable of doing.” (from a JW viewing our 4jehovah.org website)
